The slate is never clean.

Start over. Nullify your acquired perceptions, erradicate prior conceptions, wipe the slate clean. The beginning of a new year is often mistaken by an opportunity to "do things differently this time around". There's nothing mystical or magical about it, you don't suddenly get to change into a different person or alter any variables of your habitual life on the first day of the year. After your hangover passes, you pledge to improve the many things that needed your attention the year before which were inconclusive and have no excuse for not being resolved other than blatant laziness. The outcome is often the perpetuation of resolutions, empty self promises which you knew were never going to come true. A half read book, a print out of a diet plan, an unused squash racket, your old contact list with school friend's e-mails, a dermatologist's business card, random stuff you let pile up. "No one lives long enough to learn everything they need to learn starting...

sangro amor

Me insultas. Me has hecho sangrar, pero sangro amor.

A moment of doubt

It's funny when you reach a point in your life when you think you have it all figured out, you come to realize that all you thought you knew was actually backwards. As if you were looking at a picture upside down, and one day you flip it over and it makes much more sense, but it also means you have to "unlearn" what was already imprinted in your being. You then modify your perceptions and your whole world comes tumbling down. A spark of self-doubt plants itself in a tiny nook between your heart and mind, like a parasite that just found its host. Everything you thought you knew comes into questioning, simple things, trivial things. You have internal battles, debates in your head between your acquired "truth" over the years and a "what if" scenario that would refute it. Logic, reasoning, science, common sense; Your safe havens, that which you know to be true, or at least to a degree of certainty that surpasses your own convictions at the time. You fi...
